Ronald J. Steif, age 72, of Chippewa Falls, WI died October 1st, 2022, at St. Joseph’s Hospital after bravely battling multiple illnesses.

He was born on April 11th, 1950 to Walter and Elna (Drehmel) Steif. He graduated from North Highschool in 1968.

In 1974, Ron began farming with his stepfather, Gordon Buttenhoff, in the village of Lake Hallie. He continued to farm for himself until his retirement in 1999.

Ron had a big heart, and was a friend to all he met. He enjoyed time with his family, car rides, thrift sales, and living by his motto: “buy low, sell high.”

He is survived by his daughter Sarah Steif-Reeve (Mathew Reeve), and Grandson Easton Reeve of Eau Claire, WI, his sisters Carolyn (Joe) Williamson, Karlene Allen, and Laurie Hayes all of Chippewa Falls, WI. He is also survived by his special friend of 35 years, Rose Oyer and her son David Oyer, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Ronald is preceded in death by his father Walter Steif, mother Elna (Maggie) Buttenhoff and stepfather Gordon Buttenhoff.

Graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, October 18th, 2022 at Prairie View cemetery in Chippewa Falls. Friends are welcome to join us for graveside service.
