Jean Butler died in her home at the Classic at Hillcrest Greens on Monday, May 22. She was 97 years old. Jean  was the daughter of Fredrick and Bess Hill, of Queens, New York. She married William Stanton Butler on September 1, 1944 and raised two sons. Her Wisconsin family consists of son Gregg (Trudy), Grandson Aaron (Laurie), and Greatgrandchildren Garrett and Grace. Her New York family is her son William Deane (Christine), Grandsons Jason and Mark, and Great Granddaughter Rowan. Jean spent her entire life, except the last five years in New York, where she led a happy and fulfilled life. She loved her time here in Wisconsin and especially sitting on her balcony at her home, The Classic. Stokes Prock & Mundt Funeral Chapel & Crematory  will take care of the local needs.  A service will be held at The Community Church in Syosset, New York, where she was a Sunday School teacher, Director of Christian Education, and following her ordination, the Associate Pastor, until her retirement.  Following that, Jean's ashes will be mixed with her husbands and spread on the waters of Oyster Bay Harbor, New York, where they spent much of their time together. Memorials may be sent to the Wisconsin Foundation For  School Music, to honor her lifelong passion for music, at https://foundation4schoolmusic.org/donate-now/ .
