Dorothy Eckes, age 82, passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2022 at Wells Nature View in Marshfield, WI.  She was born on June 2, 1940 in Athens, WI to Richard and Francis Kohnhorst.  After graduating from Athens High School, she worked for Roddis Company and then Weyerhauser, where she retired after 40 plus years.

Dorothy married the love of her life, Frank Eckes on August 8, 1959.  Sadly, Frank passed away on April 6, 2021 after 61 years together

She was a very caring and nurturing person, who had a wonderful sense of humor.  Dorothy enjoyed bowling, taking trips with her husband and occasional casino trips with her good friend Betty.  She also enjoyed time spent at their cabin near Mondeux Flowage. 

Dorothy loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her children: Tom (Jayne) Eckes of Hewitt, and Laura (Randall) Ertl of Marshfield; grandchildren: Jacob Leichtnam, Travis (Shari) Leichtnam, Orey (Ashley) Eckes, Kayla (Reynold) Pleshek and Emily (Jeff) Eckes; great-grandchildren: Lily Leichtnam, Brody Leichtnam, Easton Eckes, Dekker Eckes, Raegen Eckes, Remy Pleshek and Kamdyn Pleshek; brothers Donald and Jim; and a sister Bonnie.

Preceding her in death are her parents, her husband Frank, daughter Lisa (Bob) Severson and siblings: Karl, Mary and Sharon.

A private burial will be held at a later date in Marshfield, WI.
