Obituary for Dennis Karl Westphal

Dennis “Denny” K. Westphal, 75 of Elk Mound, left this world too soon.  He passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 24th, 2022 surrounded by the love and support of his family at home.

Denny was born April 22,1947 in Eau Claire, WI to Ada and Ernest Westphal. He married Geri Bill on April 2, 1999, at which time he gained two step-children. He retired from the paper mill in Eau Claire after 37 years of service at the age of 55.

Denny was always busy doing something, most recently he was building and selling crates and porch pots. Through this, he and Geri met some great friends. In his younger years he was known as "El Camino Denny" since they were his favorite set of wheels! He also loved tinkering with older cars and for many years he parted out Chevy vehicles and sold the parts, many people knew if they needed a chevy part, he was the guy to call.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 23 years, Geri; son: Scott Westphal; step-children: Josh Bill and Jessica Gums (Darin); sister: Della (Rudy) Rudolph; grandchildren: Sophia, Iris and Collin Bill, Madelynn (Austin), Sydney and Elizabeth Gums, and Brooke Emery. He was a loving and attentive "Papa" to great grandchildren Flynn and Willow Koepp, and also leaves behind very special Best Friend Jeff Emery. Denny will be missed by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Raymond and Harlow and sister Norma Johnson.

Denny had a very specific request when it came to death, he did not want any services. Hard as it is, we will honor that request. He was a very loved man and will be greatly missed.
