Charlotte "Char"Jean Romportl passed away at home on February 23, 2023 with her sons and daughter-in-law by her side.

She was born June 6, 1943, in Rice Lake, WI to Frank and Beatrice (Smothers) Coon. She was the 4th of 12 children born to the couple

Charlotte married Joseph Romportl November 11, 1961, at St. Peter's Church, and they welcomed their first child the following year.

They would go on to have four more children before they moved to Neenah where they continued their life until retirement.

They then moved back Barronett to spend the rest of their lives fishing, gardening and just spending their time together making memories. Friends and family always looked forward to when they would host their annual fish fries.

Charlotte is survived by her daughters: Valerie Newman; Sandra (Charles) Sharp; sons: Tony Romportl; and Scott (Stacie) Romportl; 13 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren. She was preceeded in death by her parents, Frank and Beatrice; her husband of 56 years, Joe; her son Joe Jr.; her grandson Kenny Jr.; and 4 brothers and 4 sisters.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 4th, at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Rice Lake. A visitation will begin at 2 pm and the service will begin at 3:30 pm.
